Pain Perdu aka French Toast from pauline

Pain Perdu which is literally translated from French to English as 'lost bread' is similar to French toast, and a tasty way to use your older bread when you have the time to make this at breakfast.

You will need old bread, milk, butter, an egg, and sugar
Slice the bread
Break the egg and mix with 20ml milk

Heat some unsalted butter in the frying pan.

Dip the bread on both sides
Sprinkle sugar and fry the bread, sugar side down
Sprinkle sugar on the bread and then flip
Enjoy!
For my second batch I added more sugar and left it for longer. It caramalised and was scrumptious!
